Attention Reno, Nevada!
We were so happy to be back in the Tahoe/Reno area after nearly one year of marriage. Obviously we wanted to celebrate, so we decided to hit up a few local spots!
We want to let you know about one of the amazing restaurants in the River Walk District. We had the pleasure of eating at The Old-Granite Street Eatery. Let us tell you, this was the best meal we had during our stay in #Reno. From the ambiance to the service, it was truly a great experience!

The restaurant building itself has so much history, the original business being a bank, it even had the entrance to the old vault in the basement. It was built in 1896. Shortly after the bank closed, a German immigrant bought it and turned it into a restaurant! From there it a couple different things from an insurance business to the Famous Heart of Reno Wedding Chapel, which we think is pretty cool!
What is now S. Sierra Street, actually used to be called Granite Street, hence the new name of the restaurants Old-Granite Street Eatery!

Here is what we tried:
Espresso martini (always a must try for us)
Tiramisu Martini
Beer Battered Tofu Sticks
Homemade Chili- in a Sourdough Bread Bowl
Mediterranean Chicken Salad
Spicy Burger with a veggie patty
Angel Hair Shrimp Scampi
Below you can find our reviews!
Espresso Martini – 10/10 in our eyes. By far the best martini we’ve tried and that is not an exaggeration. Carlos our server has bartenders experience all over Reno, and you defiantly could tell by this delicious drink.
Tiramisu Martini – a sweet, chocolatey martini with chocolate syrup, and a rim consisting of crushed chocolate sprinkles. Would be a wonderful choice for a night cap or dessert.

Beer Battered Tofu Sticks – The dish consisted of soft tofu deep fried with a flavorful beer batter that was light and crispy! Even James like them.

Homemade Chili; Sourdough Bread Bowl. Whenever there’s a Sourdough Bread Bowl on a menu, it’s always an automatic order for James! The bread was thick, hearty, and delicious. A great starter to keep you warm on those ‘chili’ evenings.

Mediterranean Chicken Salad – a delightfully refreshing appy with your choice of 3 dressings; hummus, tzatziki and balsamic vinaigrette. The hummus is made in house and stole the show. Highly recommend if want a nice summer meal. Not shown is the chicken (Dee-dee is vegetarian).

The Spicy Burger (substitution with the veggie patty). It was the perfect vegetarian option, being an impossible burger, it had great flavour with the avocado and jalapeños!

Angel Hair Pasta With Shrimp. Olive oil dressing with lemon, garlic, shallots and cherry tomatoes. A nice touch on a classic dish. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and the pasta hit the spot. The oil based dressing was filled with garlicky goodness.

If you find yourself in Reno, Nevada, going to Old Granite Street Eatery is definitely a must. Defienely worth the visit if you’re vacationing in the Reno/Tahoe area!
This spot will now always old a special spot in our hearts!
