Planning a vacation to Mexico with bae for the first time, how exciting! Now the question is, Cabo or Cancun??!!

Travelling to Mexico for the first time as a couple can be an incredibly exciting and romantic experience. With its vibrant culture, delicious food, and beautiful beaches, Mexico has something for everyone. Two of the most popular destinations in Mexico are Cabo and Cancun, and both offer unique experiences that are perfect for couples.  We’ve been to both and neither of us can decide which we like better, because we find both very different!

Cabo is situated on the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, and is known for its stunning beaches, delicious food, and vibrant nightlife. Cabo also has more aquatic life and adventure. Cancun, on the other hand, is located on the Yucatan Peninsula and is famous for its beautiful turquoise waters, ancient ruins, and all-inclusive resorts.

One of the first things to consider when planning your trip is where to stay. Mexico offers a variety of accommodations, from all-inclusive resorts to cozy Bed and Breakfasts or Airbnb’s. Consider your budget and preferences when choosing your lodging. We have done Airbnb’s and both Budget and Luxury Resorts. Each accommodation obviously has it’s pros and cons , so depending on the type of vacation we want, we like to make a list to try to figure it out.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy once you’ve finally made it to your destination. When planning your trip, it’s important to consider what you and your partner are looking for in a vacation. If you’re looking for a more laid-back experience, Cabo might be the better choice for you. The beaches in Cabo are perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun, while the town itself offers plenty of great restaurants and bars to explore. We love the restaurant Happy Ending! If you’re looking to dance the night away Cabo Wabo is where it’s at!! If you’re more interested in adventure and exploring ancient history, Cancun might be the better choice. The nearby cenotes and Tulum are must-sees, and the snorkeling and diving in the area are world-renowned.

Of course, no trip to Mexico is complete without indulging in the delicious cuisine. From street tacos to gourmet restaurants, there’s something for every palate. Don’t forget to try the local specialties such as churros and tequila. Sometimes you stumble across a fun little restaurants when you’re not even looking! We did while in Cabo and now it’s one of our favourites, we now go every time when you’re in Cabo!

When travelling as a couple, it’s important to take time to connect and enjoy each other’s company. Consider booking a couples massage or a romantic dinner overlooking the ocean. Mexico’s scenic beauty and warm hospitality make it the perfect destination for a romantic getaway. Overall, a trip to Cabo or Cancun as a couple can be an incredibly memorable experience. With so much to see and do, it’s the perfect destination for couples looking for a mix of relaxation, adventure, and romance.
